For wine lovers planning a visit to Rehoboth Beach, Nassau Valley Vineyards is one spot you won’t want to miss. Located just a few miles inland, the vineyard offers you a quiet and romantic spot to enjoy a picnic, take a tour and walk along the expansive rows of grape vines. Bringing your whole family on vacation? No problem. The vineyard welcomes children of all ages to explore the grounds, but reminds guests that you must be 21 years of age to participate in wine tastings or purchase bottles of wine.
Open year-round, you can stop by Delaware’s first and largest vineyard any day of the week between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. (noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday). Self-guided tours are free and wine tasting costs $5 per person, including a tasting glass to take home.
Not your average vineyard tour, Nassau Valley Vineyards offers a self-guided tour through a five gallery museum. The first area of the tour is always changing, as a different regional artist is highlighted in this spot each month. The rest of the museum provides an opportunity to learn all about the history of wine making through photographs, illustrations and artifacts.
A favorite stop for vacationers and locals alike, we recommend planning your visit on a weekday, since the weekends get very busy.
