Even though Thanksgiving is only three days away, we are officially one month away from Christmas as of today! For the kids, all that means is that Santa Claus is coming to town and soon they’ll be gifted with all of their favorite things – if they made the “Nice List” that is. For adults however, the holiday season is all about enjoying precious time with family and friends and really getting into the true Christmas spirit. With that being said, we can’t think of a better way to kick off the season than with a trip to the Outer Bank, where you can take in all of the area’s wonderful holiday festivals!
If you’re planning to head out this way with the kids, we would highly suggest checking out the Festival of Trees, which will be celebrating its 25th year next week. Presented by the Outer Banks Hotline, the festival will be held from Thursday, December 5th to Saturday, December 7, 2013 and will feature a wide variety of entertainment for the whole family!
With everything from musical performances, a Holiday Bazaar and a silent auction, to Children’s movie night and a silver anniversary toast on Friday with live music, fancy snacks and champagne, how could you possibly pass this up? Admission for both Thursday and Saturday’s events is free with the donation of one unwrapped gift for a child, whereas the silver anniversary toast on Friday will be held from 6-9p.m. at $25 per person.
With the event being held at Jennette’s Pier this year (which is right down the road from Surf Side Hotel) there is really no better place to stay then right here with us! The festival hits the shores in just a little over a week so be sure to call us soon to make your reservation!
